About the club
It’s an understatement to say that Saeed Rashed Al Shamsi is a big name in sports. He was not only once the sole Emirati driver in the UAE Karting League, collecting roughly 21 podium-placing trophies, but also heavily embedded in the local equestrian scene. His family has been breeding horses for years and so an equestrian school and involvement in racing were an obvious next step.
Al Shahama Equestrian Club, established in 2003, has become the place where a number of restless riding students in the capital have come to finally settle. In total, the Al Shamsi family owns 117 horses for racing, breeding, endurance racing and show jumping; and among them are several winners who have competed in various local championships.
CAPACITY: The club has over 400 riders and 25 riding horses
FACILITIES: Regular and air-conditioned stables, one tack room, 12 arenas for various equestrian practices, equestrian shop, guest majlis and kids play area, plus more in the works.
PARKING: While not a designated parking area, just outside the club entrance there is enough room to fit a couple dozen cars
